About Us
Tarbaj Teachers Training College is public institution which was established February 2024 in Tarbaj consistency, Wajir County in northeastern Kenya. The college sits on a 12-acre communal land just 6 kilometers from Wajir town and along the busy Wajir-Mandera road.
The college was founded through the visionary efforts of the local Member of Parliament, Hon Hussien Abdi Bare and the current chief of staff and head of public service Felix K.koskei who served as chief guest in its ground breaking. The area member of parliament, recognized the urgent need to improve the quality of education in the area by training skilled and dedicated teachers.
The initiative aimed to address the shortage of qualified educators in Wajir County, a challenge that had long impacted many schools due to the mass exodus of teachers from the region over the years. Hon Hussein Abdi Bare mobilized resources from the C.D.F. and local stakeholders to establish the college as a center for excellence in teacher education.
The college is rapidly growing and quickly gaining popularity due to its performance in both curricular and co-curricular activities. In both music and drama festivals, the college was able to shine on the national stage, further establishing its commitment to producing all-rounded teachers. With an enrollment of 350 student trainees in just 2 years of existence, Tarbaj TTC is one of the fastest-growing colleges in northern Kenya.
Tarbaj Teachers Training College offers diploma in primary education. The college provides humble learning environment and professional lecturers who will help you realize your dreams of becoming a teacher.
